About Us

Dan Osborn and Vincenzo Perrella are a creative team who have been winning praise for their entertaining and sharply comic work.

Perrella & OsbornThey gained attention in 2009 with the release of This is Perth. Immediately going viral, the satirical clip was the most watched Western Australian short film of its time. It won both Best Film and People’s Choice awards at the 23rd WA Screen Awards, and was lauded by even the most sober of critics for harnessing the theretofore untapped potential of the world wide web, or ‘internet’, and, in doing so, heralding the dawn of a new epoch in film distribution.

During 2009 and 2010, their short film screenplays were awarded production funding from ScreenWest. Their satire It’s Just Gary was nominated for Best Direction at the 24th WA Screen Awards and was officially selected for festivals in the US, Canada and the UK. Their comedic-drama George Jones and the Giant Squid, funded through the highly competitive Hyperlink scheme, was completed in 2011. It premiered at the Perth International Film Festival and was officially selected for Flickerfest, Palm Springs International Film Festival and New York City International Film Festival, as well as being nominated for Best International Film at the 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival.

During that period they began writing for children’s television, working on Mal.com, an ABC3 sitcom that premiered in October 2011, while continuing to develop projects for animation and live-action.

Currently, Perrella and Osborn are writing, in between making repairs on their steamboat.
